Quarry Projects

Building Value That Goes Beyond the Pit

At EsoTerra, our approach to quarry development is simple: we build responsible portfolios and bring in the right partners to make them work. We don’t operate the quarries ourselves. Instead, we acquire and structure Quarry Lease (QL) opportunities, then collaborate with experienced operators who have the machinery, systems, and technical knowledge to run efficient, high-impact sites.

But to us, a viable quarry is about more than rock and revenue. It's about how that site connects to the people and places around it. We see each project as an opportunity to create long-term value—not just through minerals, but through shared prosperity.

Our Development Model

EsoTerra plays the role of strategic connector. We identify potential-rich sites, secure licensing, and assemble a solid foundation—then we match that foundation with operators who can deliver. This approach allows us to scale impact while ensuring that each project reflects the values we care about: trust, accountability, and community inclusion.

What Makes a Quarry Project Responsible?

For us, it’s not just about extraction. It’s about building trust in the regions we operate and making sure the benefits extend far beyond the site perimeter. Every project we develop is guided by four core commitments:

  • Community Development Agreements (CDAs): We ensure that communities are formally included and their priorities reflected in project outcomes.
  • Local Hiring and Job Creation: We advocate for the use of local labour and capacity-building at every stage.
  • Land Fees and Royalties: We structure fair compensation for landowners and host communities.
  • Access to Basic Infrastructure: Wherever possible, we use quarry development as a channel to improve access to water, roads, power, or other amenities.

Current Projects

We are currently developing two active quarry portfolios in Northern Nigeria:

  • Kano Quarry
  • Katsina Quarry

Each site is structured around our partnership model, with active collaboration between EsoTerra, local communities, and third-party operators. Our goal is not to simply mine these locations—but to develop them in a way that supports economic inclusion and sets a new standard for responsible quarrying in Nigeria.
