Rahama Project: A collection of 16 EL licenses covering an area of 1,215 km2, in Birnin Gwari, Chikun, Igabi, and Giwa LGA of Kaduna State, and Shiroro LGA of Niger State (Figure 1). The licenses are in the Kushaka Schist Belt, renowned for its rich mineral deposits, including rare-earth metal pegmatites.

Traditional methods can be time-consuming and costly, making it difficult to accurately assess resource potential and attract investors. The Rahama project aimed to overcome these challenges by adopting a data-driven, de-risked exploration approach.

The Solution: SMART Data & GSCAN Technology

The Rahama Lithium Project, a strategic partnership between Esoterra and GeoScan, has successfully utilized cutting-edge technologies to significantly advance its exploration and optimize investment potential. This involved a multi-phased approach:

  1. Remote Sensing: GSCAN's satellite-based spectral analysis was deployed to map lithium-bearing pegmatites across the Kaduna-Niger Axis. This initial phase successfully identified high-prospectivity zones and confirmed mineralization footprints, dramatically improving exploration efficiency.
  2. AI-Driven Prospectivity Grid: The SMART System's AI capabilities generated a detailed prospectivity heatmap, ranking lithium zones by mineral confidence. This allowed for the prioritization of optimal exploration areas, minimizing wasted resources and focusing efforts on the most promising targets.
  3. Statistical Analysis (GSCAN): Deep-learning models refined mineral confidence scores, and geostatistical analysis aligned lithium distribution with geological structures. Crucially, GSCAN generated 1D, 2D, and 3D ore body mapping, confirming suspected ore body anomalies and providing preliminary volumetric calculations of potential lithium tonnage before drilling even commenced. This advanced modeling significantly enhances exploration accuracy and boosts investor confidence.

Results: A High-Confidence, Investment-Ready Asset

The Rahama Project has achieved significant milestones:

  • Resource Estimate: Despite pending sample collection, preliminary assessments indicate a substantial resource estimate of 11.6 million tonnes of Li₂O, placing Rahama as a key contributor to Nigeria's lithium potential.
  • De-risked Exploration: The systematic application of remote sensing, AI targeting, and statistical analysis has significantly reduced exploration risk and financial uncertainties.
  • Strategic Value: With Nigeria's pegmatite-based lithium in the Central Basement Complex and Africa's lithium output projected to triple by 2027, Rahama is strategically positioned for expansion and global competitiveness.
  • Financial Projections: The project boasts robust financial projections across various confidence levels, demonstrating substantial value across the entire lithium value chain, from raw extraction to end-user applications.
  • Investment Readiness: Rahama has transitioned from unstructured asset data to an investment-ready mining opportunity, with structured resource validation and financial modeling in place.

Next Steps & Future Outlook

While significant progress has been made, the Rahama Project is now focused on advancing to its final stages of development:

  • Addressing Accessibility: The immediate priority is engaging with Kaduna and Niger State governments to improve road infrastructure and security, which are currently posing challenges for sample collection.
  • Sample Collection & Validation Drilling: Once accessibility is secured, detailed field sampling and validation drilling will confirm lithium grades and tonnage.
  • Resource Estimation & Commercial Development: This will lead to a NI43-101-compliant resource statement and a comprehensive mine development feasibility study, paving the way for full-scale development and investment.
